AirCity, the logistics and aviation hub of the Americas to be built in El Salvador

Aristos Inmobiliaria, one of the leading firms in the construction and development of industrial parks and free trade zones in El Salvador, announced the construction of the first airport free trade zone: AirCity. This development is strategically located in El Salvador, due to its land proximity to all of Central America, as well as the short air route to the United States. This will allow it to become the logistics and aviation hub of the Americas, revolutionizing regional e-commerce, dramatically reducing delivery times, attracting foreign investment and generating billions of dollars in transactions, which will open new opportunities for our countries.
AirCity is a multifunctional project attractive to a variety of industries, from logistics, aeronautics, e-commerce, refrigerated products, to training centers and hotels. The project will have an investment of USD$250 million, and will generate around 5,000 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs.
The total surface area of the project is 532,271 m2, and it is located within El Salvador’s international airport, making it destined to become a key distribution point for the Americas. This modern infrastructure will have a dedicated taxiway, known as 18-36, which will provide direct aircraft access from the main runway to its facilities, facilitating operational efficiency. It will also have a 124,081 m2 of aircraft parking space.
One of the competitive advantages of this project is its free trade zone status, which promises tax incentives for its users. Another advantage is its strategic location. AirCity will boost air and land logistics in the Northern Triangle, the United States, Mexico and South America and will be a key player in nearshoring and international trade, consolidating itself as an ideal partner for companies seeking to optimize their supply chain in the Americas.
Edwin Escobar, CEO of Aristos Inmobiliaria, underscored the importance of this investment for the future of El Salvador. “AirCity aims to be a driver of the regional economy, shortening distances and delivery times, leaving behind all geographical barriers,” said the CEO at a press conference.
AirCity is scheduled to begin construction in the first quarter of 2025, with an estimated duration of five years to complete all phases of the project.
