The Historic Center of San Salvador has an accommodation option with high quality standards for domestic and foreign tourists looking for a luxury experience. The Hotel Cardedeu Centro Histórico, which represents an investment of $7 million, is positioned as a space to rest and do business in one of the areas with more tourist potential in the country.

Gustavo Monterrosa, general manager of the hotel, pointed out that the building is equipped with high-level furniture and service, which makes it an ideal option not only for Salvadorans, but also for international tourists who come to do business or diplomatic personnel.

There are 31 rooms and all have different characteristics, in size, light tone and amenities; of that total, six are suites with direct view to the Historic Center. In addition, there are double and single rooms.

Also, all rooms contain a safe and the necessary elements to make your stay comfortable.

“We offer a high-level service, with international standards. The line that has been purchased for the entire hotel is quite comfortable, at the height of first-line guests such as diplomats or business people. Coffee is provided in the rooms and breakfast is included. In addition, they are given a basket of typical sweets”, he pointed out.

Another point to highlight is that, according to the executive, the historic essence of the property, which dates back more than 100 years, has been maintained. Remodeling has been carried out to make the room safe, but elements such as curtains from the theater that it was at some point in history have been left in place.

“This structure is more than 100 years old and we have sought to respect the historical content, because before being the hotel it was a theater. The curtains and the height seek to give that feeling. We kept the historical review of the place, maintaining colors and tones,” he said.

Cristina Rivas, commercial manager of Grupo Cardedeu, the conglomerate that made the investment, added that the touch of local gastronomy is something that has been incorporated into the service so that guests take away the best image of the country; at the same time, she pointed out that it is not an express hotel, since it has room service.

“We have Silvestre here, which is the hotel’s main restaurant; the lobby, which is a gastrobar with drinks and food that highlight national flavors; on the hotel’s terrace we will have a brand called CH, which will be a very complete gastrobar. In addition, we have a champion barista as part of our team and a high culinary list,” he commented.

Currently, the hotel is in soft opening, as details are still being fine-tuned, but it is already open for reservations at certain room levels.

Finally, Rivas pointed out the importance of the changes promoted by the government of President Nayib Bukele on issues such as security and renovation of spaces such as the heart of the capital, as this has increased tourism and consequently their desire to invest in the territory.

“What we are achieving worldwide, that people want to come to know El Salvador is an achievement of the Government, which is applauded. The Historic Center is one of the destinations that are being promoted the most and we know that the traffic of tourists will be great for the hotel”, he concluded.

“We have a hotel complex in Lake Coatepeque, this hotel in the Historic Center, two hotels in San Benito and openings are coming such as Punta Elefante, La Libertad and the Volcano,” he added.
